So you want to know what a “Note Head†is. It’s a bright, energetic person with music on the brain – and that’s great! But, what if they’re not exactly sure what instrument makes the sound they like, or what instrument feels best to them, or for those that can’t quite put words to it, what “fitsâ€? With today’s Alaska Rewards offer bring your 5th – 7th grader to Alaska Music & Sound, home of the horn doctor, for a 3 day Note Heads Camp.
Where they will help your youngster discover the instrument they were meant to play. They will fiddle around with string instruments, get brassy with a trumpet, and toot a flute! It’s an excellent head-start for students interested in school orchestra or band in the fall. Participants will learn the rudiments of different orchestra or band instruments each day, how to assemble and care for the instrument, how to produce a sound, and how to play a simple song. Instruments include: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion, and various orchestral string instruments. At the end of the session, students will pick their favorite instrument and demonstrate for a family audience. Small class size, personal attention, and use of all instruments included. Two camp dates are available either August 4th through August 9th or August 9th through August 11th from 10:30am to 12:30pm.
